Reception 2008 - 2009

 

Our class celebration will be on

Thursday, 14 May 2009 at 2.40 pm.

We had a lovely visit from Mrs Size who works for an airline (Monarch). She told us all about her job and we asked her questions and had a lot of fun.

Thank you  Mrs Size.

We have enjoyed our 'Mary 'Poppins' theme.

Our class celebration was beautiful.

Reception class took part in a whole school celebration about Islam.

We have been tasting bread and this week we made bread rolls. 

They were delicious!

Reception Reading Meeting

Wednesday, 25th March 2009 at 1.30 pm

All Reception parents welcome.

Reception Reading Club starts on

Wednesday, 1st April 2009 at 8.25 - 8.45 am.

(continues every Wednesday morning)

We made our own individual pizzas and enjoyed eating them for snack.

We tasted different types of pizza.  We are going to be designing and making our own pizzas soon.

We had a wonderful class celebration and sang lovely songs about 'Growing' and 'Springtime'.  Thank you for joining us.

We celebrated Shrove Tuesday by making and tasting pancakes.

Reception enjoyed meeting the Pembrokeshire Birds of Prey.  Elizabeth and Arran both had the opportunity to hold an

Eurasion Eagle Owl.

We made and tasted soup this week.  We all loved it!

Our Community Police Officers came to visit. 

We showed them our Police Station role play area.

Our Carnival Dance Workshop.

Go Green Day

We are looking after the birds in our school environment.

We really enjoyed the recent snow.  We all put our wellies on and went outside.  We made footprints, patterns in the snow, looked for animal and bird prints and threw snowballs at the teachers.

We made a small snowman and brought him inside to watch what happened to him.

 

 

We celebrated St John Bosco Feast Day on Friday, by being active, kind and sharing with all of our school friends.

We celebrated Chinese New Year this week.  We tasted chinese food, made Ox's, counted Chinese years and listened to stories about the Chinese culture.  We have been using Chinese chopsticks too!

We tasted honey 'Blossom' and 'Acacia' varieties. 

We all love honey now!!!

We have been playing in our Police Station.

 

Everton Football Club

John the coach came in and taught us some football skills.

We had a wonderful time fundraising for Ghana during our Reception and Year 1 'Wet Welly Walk'

Thank you for celebrating our Class's Welcome Assembly.  You are now officially part of the St John Bosco School family.

 

To celebrate World Book Day, we all came to school dressed as our favourite book characters.
