Our class celebration will be on
Wednesday, 30th April 2008 at 2.40 pm.
We had a picnic for Josie because she is going to Canada.

We looked at 'Ben Johnsons' artwork of Liverpool City Centre. We worked with a partner to design our own building. We chose our own materials, glued and painted. We then made our 'Liverpool Skyline'. Please come and see it in our outdoor area!!
We went on a Bear Hunt. We squelched in the mud, swirled in a snowstorm and tiptoed in a cave. We found a bear!!
'Bear Wakeham'
On Monday, we visited Underwater Street. We had a lovely time.
There were many things to do including a construction area, a sensory area, an art area, imagination village, the physical zone and the Lab.

Every Tuesday morning at 8.25, we have a relaxing start to our day. Our parents/carer come in and share a reading book.
We have been making bread. We measured, mixed, kneaded, baked and then .... tasted our bread.
We made our bread from wheat flour and from gluten and wheat free flour.
We enjoyed both!!
The Bluesilver Theatre Company came to visit our school.
We learned about a typical day of a Victorian child.
We celebrated Palm Sunday in the School Hall with our families.
Reception Plant 28 trees. Yes 28 trees in the school grounds.
Four specially chosen children from reception were chosen to make our school grounds even nicer. Rebecca, Leila, Callum and Zach helped to plant and water the trees. We all put our wellies on and did a great job. Look out for the trees growing in our wilderness garden.

We had a 'Jolly Jama' Day on Friday and we enjoyed reading our favourite stories together.
We enjoyed a fun musical morning with Bob Buckle.

Parents Evening
The school nurses visited our school on Tuesday and showed us all how to wash our hands properly.
We used a special light and gel to see the germs
on our hands.
We celebrated Shrove Tuesday by making pancakes. We followed a recipe, we tossed our pancakes, even Sir did!!
We then enjoyed our pancakes.
Reception Class celebrated their class celebration. Thank you to all our visitors for joining us.
Reception Class received a visit from Mrs Size who talked about her job as an Air Stewardess.

We used our senses to explore breakfast cereals. We tasted 4 different cereals and decided which one we liked the best. We voted and the most popular breakfast cereal is 'Bran Flakes'. We also washed and dried our bowls and spoons ourselves!!!
We had fun at our Christmas Party!
We went to visit Thomas Cook and had our passports stamped. We asked questions about holidays and different countries. We watched Ms Barlow get some foreign currency and looked through lots of travel brochures.

Our class celebration 'Visitors' was a wonderful experience. All of the children participated well and even our visitors received a drink and a chocolate biscuit!!
Diane came in to talk to us about road safety before our trip to 'Thomas Cook'.
Reception class were thrilled when a gift of a book pack from BOOKTIME in association with Pearson, arrived at
St John Bosco. They received a children's illustrated book - Funnybones by Janet and Allan Ahlberg and published by Puffin - to take home to share with family and friends. The book was handed out by teachers in a special book bag, with a guidance booklet for parents and carers on shared reading.
We have been making fruit kebabs. We prepared our fruit, washing, chopping and slicing.
We chose 7 fruits to put on our kebab sticks.
We took them home to eat. They were delicious!!

The infants have been learning about Sikhism. Here are some things that are important to Sikhs. We are looking forward to our
celebration assembly on Friday!
We made diva lamps out of clay to celebrate the festival of Diwali.
Thank you to all our friends and families for attending our Welcome Assembly. You can all be very proud of your children as their behaviour and singing was excellent.

We have been tasting different types of fruit juice.
We tried orange, apple and cranberry juice.
We used our special 'voting eggs' and found that apple juice was our favourite.
