Our work

Our first Class Mass will be on

Wednesday, 14 July 2010 at 2.25 pm

Do you like our moving pneumatic monster designs.

Well done children, they are brilliant!

Thank you Year 3 for a lovely (first and last) Year 3 class mass!

A big thank you to parents and family also for your support.

We had a fun time at Maricourt practising multi sports and enjoying all the activities.

We enjoyed the multi sports taster session today and hope to take part during the Summer!

We are very proud of our Runner Beans - we looked after them really well

and watched them grow from a little seed.

Thank you to Jack who made our Numeracy through Football extremely fun.

We had fun at the Science Discovery Centre.

We particularly liked making soap.

We have been making some monsters with one moving part

using pneumatic systems.

What a lovely (and very hot) afternoon we had at Summerhill School practising and learning new orienteering skills.  Thank you to everyone who helped to organise this event, the children really enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed our Day of Dance, thank you Naomi.

Year 3 have been learning all about magnets and springs this term for Science.

We have enjoyed painting patterns in Art this term.

We have been investigating if all metals are attracted to magnets.

We enjoyed making shadow puppets and testing them out.

We had fun learning African dancing with Naomi for our day of dance.

We enjoyed making Rice Krispie cakes and followed the instructions carefully.  Yum Yum!

Today we learned all about shadows and measured our own shadows in the playground.

Thank you to all parents for joining us at our 'Special Meals' Class Celebration.  Well Done Year 3.

Well done to Brenden for completing your Kids Skill - The Dr Who Skill - to put up your hand in class instead of shouting out.  You have been working very hard with this and we all enjoyed your celebration.  Congratulations!

Reception class enjoyed looking at our sculptures today.

Thank you to Naomi for teching us more brilliant dance moves.

Well done everyone!

We have had lots of fun making our own sculptures.  Can you guess our designs? (a train, a robot, a hotel, a bridge, a castle, a forest cruise ship and Simon Cowell's house!)

We have been very busy constructing 'story boxes' about the 'Cinderella' story this week.

We had a look around our school premises to discover any interesting sculptures.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.  We had a lovely class party with games and more food and had fun playing party games in the hall.

We have had lots of fun designing/planning and making our own tasty sandwiches - Yum! Yum!

We listened to an interesting talk with Diane Brady (Community Police Officer) about keeping ourselves safe during this busy time at Christmas.

Thank you Diane.  This was very important and useful.

Art

We have been very busy making Christmas cards and calendars for our families!

Feliz Navidad!

Numeracy through Football

We had a great time doing some Maths football activities in the hall and in the classroom.

We made predictions about how durable some rocks/stones would be and used sandpaper to test this.  We recorded our results and discussed our observations also.

We have been putting our ICT skills into practice and produced lovely

non-chronological reports 'All About Hippos'.

We have enjoyed discovering different types of bread - how they taste

(yum yum!) and looking at their texture.

Science

We have been exploring our school playground area to discover different types of rock and if they are man-made.

Class Celebration

A big thank you to all parents for attending our class celebration mass.

We hope you enjoyed it.

Geography

Year 3 had an exciting walk to the local shops to discover who works there and how far they had to travel to work.  We learned some interesting facts.

Science

We enjoyed a very interesting visit from the dental hygienist and learned a lot about the importance of looking after our teeth.

We have been learning about our teeth and different types (incisors, canines and molars) and what they all are used for.

We also enjoyed making our own set of teeth.

Art

We are enjoying learning how to sketch faces/portraits in Art/Design this half term.

Science

We are learning about different food groups and the importance of a healthy balanced diet.
