As part of Science, we have planted our own beans to see if we can help them grow well.
Our new DT topic is all about moving monsters. We have been experimenting with ways in which air can make things move.
Fantastic Finch Farm Finals
Yesterday on June 16th our football teams from year 3 and 4 and 6 went to Everton's Academy at Finch Farm. The finals were to celebrate the best teams from all over Sefton and we had 3 teams in them. They sent a double decker bus to take us there. The weather was very hot and we were all very excited. The first final was the year 6 match against Great Crosby who have 3 year 6 classes. It was a tough game but we eventually won with Adam's great right foot shot and fantastic defending. Next two games were the year 3 and year 4 and we had teams in both finals. The teams played fantastic football and year 4 won again with goals from Jordan's right foot and a left foot free kick. The team defended well and Ryan had a great game in goal. The final score was 2: 1 to St John Bosco. Well the year 3 were having a brilliant match and really put the team from Great Crosby under alot of pressure. They hit the bar twice and the ball was cleared off the line 3 times. It was not meant to be and sadly they scored a goal from a corner that bounced off Amelia's arm and hit the post and went in. We all had a great morning and will try again next year except for year 6's. Here are some pictures.
Year 3 class took part in a whole school celebration about Islam.
Year 3 Holy Communion Celebration Mass
The children from year 3 enjoyed a lovely 1st Holy communion mass on Saturday, 2nd May at St Gregory's church. The children were fantastic and their behaviour was excellent. A special thank you to Mrs Bromilow and
Mrs Baker for preparing the children and to all the teachers for supporting this special ceremony. Fr Smith wishes to thank all the families and friends who helped to make this such a special event. Thanks to the Friends for a great party afterwards in the parish club. Here are a few pictures, The official photographs will be sent to school as soon as possible. Thanks once again I hope you all had a wonderful day.
Don't the children all look so grown up. Thank you to everyone for making this such a special day. A display will be in year 3 classroom soon. |
We learnt some Spanish dancing when Naomi came in.
Our class celebration on growing.
Our Geography topic is to look around our local area. We did a street survey about Round Meade.
Fantastic Year 3 Footballers Fly into Finch Farm Finals
Match report to follow on Monday well maybe Wednesday
The first match we played was against St Mary's and we won 5-0. The match started and our team kicked off. Ben passed it to Sean then Sean booted it across to Fred. Then Fred had a chance to score and it was a powerful shot and it nearly broke the net. Then Sir made a substitution. Fred came off for Dylan and just then Tom came off for Jake. Just then Ben had a shot and scored. We were brilliant and Sir said that he wished Liverpool played as well as our team. Sir was right we were brilliant. The next match we played St William of York and we won 2-0 and Ben and Fred scored the goals. The next game was against Green Park and we won 9-0 and guess what Fred scored 4 and Joe scored one which was a great goal. The last game we played was against St Edmund's and we won 2-0 and brilliant Ben scored both of the goals. Amelia only had 3 touches in the whole tournament. We are now in the final and will go to Finch Farm in the summer. Amelia will probably be a bit busier in goal then. This repot brought to you by the year 3 football team. Oh and by the way our mums and dads were brilliant too.
We have been looking at shadows and how our shadows move when we move.
We enjoyed following a set of instructions to make
Rice Crispy Cakes.
Year 3 and 4 in fantastic football double
Yesterday the year 3 and year 4 footballers went to St Georges and took part in a football tournament. The year 3 team came top of their league and the year 4 team took top spot of theirs .winning all their games. We were fantastically supported by a great number of parents and the children were quite outstanding. The year 4 team went on to win the final and will be presented with their trophy at assembly on Friday. Well done everyone. 5 team points each if your kit smells nice. Oh and we all had dinner in our players lounge. Here are the pictures to prove it.

We really enjoyed learning a dance from the high school musical sound track.
To celebrate World Book Day, we all came to school dressed as our favourite book character.
A big thank you to Kathryn Cheetham, the dentist who came in and told us all about teeth. We learned a lot by listening and looking at pictures and models.
We have started to look at teeth and healthy eating as part of our Science topic. We have made our very own gums and teeth.
