Boys win in penalty shoot out

Mr Merivale took the boys to Finch Farm last week and the team played some very attractive football in the final. This is a fantastic achievement as most of the team are from year 5. What will they do next year? Here are a few pictures sent in by

Mr Hodge. Well done boys.

Boys battle to Everton Finals

The boys from year 5 and year 6 played in the Everton Partnership Festival last Friday. They played five games in all against schools with teams of year 6 players only. Well they were a great team and a number of people said that they were playing the best passing football. A bit like Spain. They won thier group and now go to the finals. Well done boys.

Here we are before we had kicked a ball Here we are after the tournament. Oh can you tell that we won?

Our class celebration mass will be on

Tag Rugby Team Have a Great Try

The boys and girls from the Tag Rugby after school club took part in the 5th annual Kew Woods Tag Rugby Competition today 5th March. They played some excellent rugby and scored a number of fantastic trys. We were all a bit cold but the rain held off for us. Unfortunately we did not win our group but were narrowly beaten 3:2 by the team that went on to the semi-finals. Here are a few pictures of us and our medals for being one of the 12 schools in Sefton who took part. Well done to all the team.

Here we are looking a bit cold. Poor Francis....shiver me timbers...... Here are all the teams lined up before the games
The team with their medals for taking part We are the champions...well nearly

We had lots of fun (and mess) making our very own bread rolls.  As you can see, we are all budding bakers!

Fantastic Five into Semi Finals

Year 5 had a great football match against St Georges last week in the Maghull and District Year 5 Cup. They played some fantastic passing football and eventually came out winning 5 : 0  Here are the teams.

Parents Evening

The school nurses visited our school on Tuesday and showed us all how to wash our hands properly.

We used a special light and gel to see the germs

on our hands.

We had fun at our Christmas Party!

Carol Concert 2007

Well done to all the singers, musicians and actors who took part in this years carol concert. The church was packed as usual and this time we were treated to a special rendition of Jingle Bells by our fantastic violin group. I do hope that you have a very happy and Holy Christmas. Here are a few pictures from the concert.

We have started making our instruments as part of

Design and Technology.

Boys play at Liverpool Academy in Year 5 Tournament

The boys from year 5 and a boy from year 4 played in the Liverpool Academy tournament on Wednesday 14th November. They played some fantastic football and were very unlucky not to progress to the final. They were the best team there playing the quick passing game that we try to develop at St John Bosco. Unfortunately the woodwork and some amazing goalkeeping kept our attempts out of the net. All I can say is that they were brilliant and I really enjoyed watching their football. There was certainly more to watch than at an average game at Southport FC

Here we are ready to go I hope the sign doesn't fall down Say cheeeezzze boys
Action fron one of the games What can I say about this..........nothing really Goodbye from Liverpool Academy

An Archaeologist from Liverpool University Outreach Department visited Year 5 and gave the children the opportunity to handle artefacts as old as 2000 years.

Here we are with our friends from St Georges

On Friday 9th November we had two great games against St Georges.

Can you believe the score was 3.3 in both games. A big thanks to all our parents who supported the boys so well. We travel away to St Georges on Tuesday 13th.

As part of our Objects and Meanings topic, we have been learning how to sketch meaningful objects using a variety of pencils.
