Our Class Mass will be on

Well Done to Year 5 for delivering a lovely, and final Mass.

 

Year 5 have had the opportunity to learn about how to ride their bikes safely on the road.  Here are some photographs showing how they got on.

Year 5 had the opportunity to visit Dominoes Pizza.  Whilst they were there, they found out about the kitchen and made their own unique pizza, Bosco style.

As part of National Sports week Year 5 took part in Athletics at Litherland Sports Park.  We all had a great time and all took part in each event from long jump to sprinting.  Well done Year 5,

you should be proud.

Year 5 have been given the opportunity to learn golfing techniques for the next 5 weeks.

Green Team Plant Vegetable Plot

Today members of the St John Bosco Green Team in year 5 almost completed planting up their vegetable plot. It Looks great and we are now going to ask the Friends and Governors for a potting shed and a green house. More information will follow.

Bike Security Marking Day

The children from year 5 and 6 were invited to bring their bikes to school on Thursday 11th June to have them security marked by the police. Diane Brady came and talked to the children about securing their bikes and then helped to mark them with a security tag.

Year 5 and Under Girls Romp into Final

The girls in the year 5 and under football Cup Semi-final came away as comfortable winners in a 7:0 win against the girls from St Thomas' . James and Carmel were very proud of their efforts and the large number of supporters cheered in a most sporting manner. Thank you to Mr Merivale for being the ref. Well done girls you are catching up with the boys.  The smell is still the same.

We have had great fun making masks.

Year 5 class took part in a whole school celebration about Islam.

Girls enjoy Fantastic Friendly Football Fun

The girls from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed two fantastic football matches last night against the girls from Green Park. They played some quite outstanding football and the A team won 5:1 with the B team sharing a 0:0 draw. It was great to see how they have developed individually and as a team under the coaching of Carmel and James. It has been so good to see the great numbers that turn up every Friday after school and it would be great to see even more of the girls from year 3 if they would like to take part. Well done to all the girls.

Again, Year 5 enjoyed learning about and practising Flamenco dancing.

Bread Making

We have had a wonderful time baking basic bread and chocolate twister bread.  The best thing about it all was the eating!

Boys in Year 4 and 5 battle into Quarter Finals of Cup

The boys in year 4 and 5 had a fantastic victory last night against a very strong team from Green Park. The boys will be producing a match report however the winning goal came from Jordan McDonough. Mr Merivale and Mr MacAreavy were amazed at how the boys played for each other. It was easily their best performance both individually but more importantly as a team. Well done boys. We are all very proud of you. You really did deserve to win the game. Here they are in all their glory. We all want to know what Jack had for dinner.

Come on boys you've just won and are in the quarter finals That's more like it. Joe can smile for England.

Year 5 children experienced Carnival dancing and entered into the spirit of it.

Our Community Police officers came to visit and answer our questions about their jobs.  Here are our Year 5 police officers and pretend baddies.

We celebrated St John Bosco Feast Day by playing team activities and games.

Year 5 enjoy trip to Liverpool Football Academy

Boys from year 5 enjoyed a visit to Liverpool Football Academy on Wednesday 21st January. They played 3 games in total and it was great to see just how much they have improved as a team. The boys won their first game comfortably  scoring 6 great goals. The second game was against the groups eventual winners and they proved too strong winning 3 goals to 1. The final game was a draw with the boys creating numerous chances but the ball would not go in. Anyway a great time was had by all and we sang songs in the mini bus on the way back to school. Well done year 5 boys. Here we all are.

Art - Making containers

We have been making containers suitable for a special object.

Year 5 have been enjoying making their own percussion instruments. 

The more mess the better, it seems!

Year 5 Football

Year 5 boys took part in a football festival held on Friday 24th November at Maricourt High School. There were 5 teams in all and some were particularly strong. We played really well and got better and better with each game resulting in a win with 2 lobbed goals from Danny Gresham. Well done boys. You really did try your best and supported each other fantastically.

 

Year 5 had a fantastic time dancing to High School Musical.

To celebrate World Book Day, we all came to school dressed as our favourite book character.

Year 5 have been trying out their sketching skills of a photograph of one of our pupils.  Can you guess who it is?
