As part of our DT topic, we had to try to put together a strong structure for a shelter.

We have enjoyed acting out role plays whilst learning about probability.

We had to make a collage of our dream holiday as part of our

RE lesson.

Girls Play Great Game of Football

The year 6 girls with help from Jess in year 5 played a great game of football last night against a very strong Melling team. They eventually lost the game but played some great football. Well done to all the girls. This was a particularly great effort as we only had 7 players to choose from.

We all had our own ideas to raise money for the

Good Shepherd appeal.

We worked hard to make our Science display.

Tag Rugby Team Have a Great Try

The boys and girls from the Tag Rugby after school club took part in the 5th annual Kew Woods Tag Rugby Competition today 5th March. They played some excellent rugby and scored a number of fantastic trys. We were all a bit cold but the rain held off for us. Unfortunately we did not win our group but were narrowly beaten 3:2 by the team that went on to the semi-finals. Here are a few pictures of us and our medals for being one of the 12 schools in Sefton who took part. Well done to all the team.

Our Design and Technology Topic was to make slippers.

Look how we did!

The school nurses visited our school on Tuesday and showed us all how to wash our hands properly.

We used a special light and gel to see the germs

on our hands.

Kingswood Adventure Week 2008

We all had a great time in January when we went to the Kingswood Centre in Shropshire. You can see all the great things that we did in the pictures below. If you are in year 5 make sure that you ask your parents if they will let you go. It is the experience of a lifetime. We gave it 10 out of 10. It also lets your mum know if her washing powder is up to the job.

We have been getting into the Christmas spirit making cards and stockings to take home with us.

Carol Concert 2007

Well done to all the singers, musicians and actors who took part in this years carol concert. The church was packed as usual and this time we were treated to a special rendition of Jingle Bells by our fantastic violin group. I do hope that you have a very happy and Holy Christmas. Here are a few pictures from the concert.

Year 6 Visit Southport by Bus

Year 6 went to The Eco Centre in Southport on Tuesday 20th November. They were looking at ways to help reduce pollution and protect the environment at the same time. Our school has produced a Travel Plan which means that we are looking at ways to help reduce recycle and reuse. One of our big developments was the building of our bike shed and the new way that we undertake our safe cycle test which enables all year 6 children to cycle to school every day if they wish. The children prepared storyboards to show how they try to be more Eco-friendly. They then used computer software to produce a news report using pictures they had taken around school. They were then able to insert speech bubbles and even record voice overs to make it sound like a real news report. They all worked very hard and Mrs Kirk and Mr Lloyd who arranged the activities sent an email saying how fantastic they were. Here are a few moments from the day.
