This year the school has reorganised the way we deliver Safe Cycling to our Year 6 children.  Previously they were offered the course at the end of the year in July, however, we have changed this so that they now take the test at the beginning of their final year.  This means that they can cycle to school for all the year if they pass the test.  We are now able to offer the course to Year 5 children in July so that they are ready to use our new cycle store when they return as Year 6 children in September.

The first group of Year 6 children took their test on Thursday and we were delighted that they all passed.  Well done.  A special thanks to Karen who organised the four day training and test and to Mrs Whittle and Mrs Fleming for ensuring that the children were safe as they acquired their new safety skills. Mr MacAreavy also helped and was very proud of their attitude, manners and attention to safe cycling.  Below are a few pictures showing the group in action and showing off their new cycle store.  Group 2 will be trained during the week beginning 9th October 2006.  Good luck!

The second group of year 6 children took their Safe Cycle training last week and we are delighted that once again the group all passed. Well done. There will be a visit from Darren Lloyd on Wednesday 18th October. Darren is the Sefton School Travel Plan Co-ordinator and is particularly pleased with the way our school and children have adopted a more positive attitude towards travelling to school. Here are a few pictures of the successful second group of year 6 children. Well done once again.

Here we go. Good luck Ready to cross the road safely Karen gives us our instructions
Single file is the safe way Ready to go. One last look around. Group 2 nearly finished
Did we pass Mr MacAreavy? Yes you did. Well done!

Congratulations and well done to all our year 6 children who passed their Safe Cycle test.

From Mr MacAreavy and all the teachers and assistants.
