St John Bosco Primary School Catch up overview

Dear Parents and Carers

I am sure that we are all looking forward to our children returning to school on Monday 8th March.  As a school we have continued to maintain as high levels of safety as is possible and I very much appreciate your contribution towards this and the local infection rate bears this out as it approaches 100.  We must maintain our current practices to reduce the chance of me having to send a whole class home for a school week should a member of that group test positive.  We have largely returned to our arrangements which proved so successful prior to this lock down and it is my intention to continue in this manner with your support until we can hopefully return to a more normal society sometime after Easter.

Please find the above document (Coronavirus Policy, March 2021) which outlines our arrangements for the full return on 8th March.  Mr Mainwaring and I have removed what we consider unnecessary advice, but you may refer to this in earlier documents, as it still applies.  I shall add any detail next week that I feel appropriate and helpful but I can inform you that as of 8th March Breakfast Club and Kidzone After-School Club (please make bookings through them - see contact details in document) will resume as normal.

We shall also be providing an after school sports activity for each class when we return and I shall share these details with you next week, as we make final adjustments.  I am however delighted to be able to let the children in Year 4 know that their swimming lessons will resume on Wednesday 10th March.  I am more than happy with the safety arrangements that the management at the Meadows Baths have put in place and shall attend with the children on their first visit.

I hope that you find the updated documentation both clear and helpful, but should you require any clarification and indeed any help throughout the coming week you know where I am, and I will be more than happy to help in any way that I can.

Can I please remind all adults that wearing a face covering/mask is compulsory when entering school premises and I thank you for not bringing pet dogs on to the school grounds particularly at the end of the schools day.

I wish you an enjoyable weekend as the weather continues to improve and would like to thank you all for your continued support and kind comments which are much appreciated and shared throughout the staff.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy

Headteacher
