Update from Mr MacAreavy

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you enjoyed the Bank Holiday and that the children will have a break from school work during this week.  I have little to inform you about other than a very genuine enquiry as to how you all are and continue to remind you that school is here to help in any way that you think we can.  I shall be in school each day this week should you need to contact me.  We have made all our arrangements for the gradual return of some of our children on Monday 15th June and I hope that the transition arrangements for Year 6 offer some reassurance that the children will engage in someway with their high schools.  It is my plan that our reception class will finish on Friday 10th July in order to arrange some kind of transition for our children who begin school in September.  My initial thoughts are to provide opportunities for families to meet the reception staff individually with their child.  I shall discuss this with the teachers and support staff as they may have some ideas of their own.  The Teachers and Governors have worked tirelessly to ensure that we have tried our best to make your child's school as safe as possible.  I am continuing this week to look at any ways that we might be able to help the children remain at a safe distance while they are working in their classrooms.   Thank you for your supportive comments with regards to how the school intends to keep your child safe.  I shall send another message next Monday when I may be in a position to share any new developments with you.  As ever I wish you all well and look forward to welcoming your children back to school when it is safe to do so.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
