Important - Update regarding school opening

Dear Parents and Carers

I have just received the following message from Sefton and as you can see they shall be informing all schools of their decision with regards to the proposed phase one opening on Monday 15th June 2020.  I shall send a message as soon as I have received the outcome from Sefton Council and it therefore only leaves me to hope that you all remain safe and well and I shall keep you fully informed of any developments.

'Good morning everyone

Several headteachers are asking where does Sefton Council sit regarding the reopening on 15th June as the R number in the North West is now above 1. Tomorrow morning I am meeting with the Leader of the Council, the cabinet member for Children’s Services and Schools, Director of Public Health, Mr D Johnson and Mrs V Buchanan to discuss the situation. We are seeking guidance too from PHE and DfE. We will contact schools after this to inform you of the recommendation.

Mrs T Davies - Interim Head of Education'

Regardless of the Councils decision we would still like to update our intentions list for children who intend to return to school in phase 1 whenever that may be.  If you have changed your decision either way can you please inform Mrs Greenwood on admin.stjohnbosco@schools.sefton.gov.uk or 07753374969 school mobile.  It has been decided that the school kitchen will provide packed lunches only throughout the first week of return (Monday -Thursday) but if you have not indicated that you require a school meal can you please do so as soon as possible for ordering purposes using the above contacts.  If your decision remains the same and you have sent your details into school you need to take no further action.

Thank you for your co-operation as accurate updates of your decisions will ultimately help us make the returning to school process a smooth transition.

If you are a key worker and are now considering returning your child to school we must have written evidence that you are a key worker as we may be challenged at some time in the future.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
