Friday Up date

Dear Parents and Carers

Another week has ended with school life in all classes being as normal as is possible and I am sure that you will join me in thanking the teachers and support staff for all their hard work during these unique times.  The effort and commitment as well as time that they are giving to your children is a major reason why they have settled in so well and although there will be more of an impact of lockdown with our younger children, our junior children are already pleasing their teachers with their efforts.  Sports have resumed and we have taken full advantage of the pleasant weather this week with packed lunches being enjoyed outside in the fresh air.  The modified school timetables are working well and we hope to share pictures with you of your children's classes and remind you to return your Home School Agreement Booklet consents.  Drop off and pick up arrangements are working but I am aware of the congestion for both schools at the end of the day and ask in order to improve this you park away if possible or use the MCA Car Park and walk down Green Lane.  I have asked for the zigzag markings to be instated as quickly as possible at the Round Meade but respectfully request that if you do park you exercise courtesy and safety by not parking on corners and particularly on pedestrian footpaths where a number of parents with babies in buggies have had to move onto the road as there footpaths have been blocked.  This is not only dangerous but selfish.  It would break my heart if a child was injured as a result of such behaviour.

So let me finish on a very positive note.  Although local lockdown will be imposed next Tuesday, and we all have a good reason why, we have done the best that we can as a school community to pick up our children and leave as quickly as possible I would like to thank you for bringing your children to school at the correct time of 8.45am and particularly by collecting them at 3.15pm and not coming on to the school site before 3.10pm as you know children will leave their classroom at 3.15pm.  Thank you for complying with Sefton's instructions that all adults except those with valid reason must wear a face covering and that includes teachers.  I appreciate that some of you feel that this may make children anxious but unfortunately as a wider community we all suffer from the selfishness of others.

Can I wish you all an enjoyable weekend and remind you that if your children or anyone in your family is ill that they must stay away from school and inform the school office where we will continue to support you as much as we can.

Yours sincerely
