Friday Update

5 February 2021 (by stjohnb)

Dear Parents and Carers

One more week to go and then a well-earned break for all of us. I’m sure that you may well have a slightly different view but rest assured the efforts that you have made have been much appreciated and we can’t wait to get all the children back when we are instructed to do so, so that we can continue educating them and providing all the activities that make our school such a fun place to be.

We have enjoyed reasonably good weather which has allowed the children to enjoy their PE activities outside as well as a number of outside lessons which have been organised by the teachers. The children remain extremely happy and look forward to attend school and I have seen a number of your children who are sadly working from home and have told them all just how much we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to where they belong.

I have received many positive comments about our Wellbeing Wednesday afternoon where children at home and in school go off screen and take part in other activities that they enjoy. Thank you for the many pictures that you have sent in which I have no doubt will give others ideas. I have decided to continue this next week so your children can have a think about what they would like to do next Wednesday afternoon.

We continue to be very fortunate with the staff testing negative throughout the week and I hope that when we return after half term we shall have an idea of when we can begin to plan for a full return. There are a few exciting developments within the school that will be taking place during half term and every child will benefit from these improvements.

The teachers will continue to engage with you each morning and also during their end of week class assemblies if they are able to do so.

Numbers in school are manageable and if you are able to keep your child off can you inform            Mrs Greenwood so that she can amend our attendance records.

Fr Grant has received his first jab and is now feeling better and he would like to send his love and prayers to you all as indeed I do. I hope you have another peaceful weekend but find a moment to think about the families in our school community who are having a difficult time. If there is anything that I can do to support or help you, you only have to ask and I shall try my best to be of some help.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
