Dear Parents and Carers

Half term has finally arrived and not a moment too soon for the teachers and support staff who have been working in school supporting all of their children on a daily basis. I hope that you are looking forward to a week without zoom registrations and the demands of trying to balance your own commitments with the added burden of home schooling. Although there will be many enjoyable moments when you are working with your children I appreciate the commitment that you give each and every day and all I can do is promise that we will build upon this when all the children return. We already have plans in place to support any groups or individuals as we would do under normal circumstances. This does not mean that normal enjoyable parental activities which include reading at bed time should not continue as I remember how enjoyable I found this myself.

Covid rates in our area continue to fall steadily and are now below 300 and we must continue to contribute to this positive down turn so that we can stand a chance of allowing our children to return to school where they belong. I shall communicate with you, in appropriate detail, when I have confirmation of these arrangements.

As this was such a short half term I have decided that we shall have our zoom parent’s/catch up evenings in the second half of the spring term in the same manner as we have previously done. Your feedback was extremely positive and it would be wonderful if we were able to include discussing your children’s return to school as well as how they have managed up to this time.

I remain hopeful that we are approaching happier times and hope that you enjoy next week. Please continue to spare a moment for those members of our school family who are experiencing sad and difficult times and I thank you for all your kind comments of support and for the part that you have played in helping to prepare your children in the best way that you can.

As we begin the season of Lent next Wednesday, it seems more appropriate than ever that this is the time when we prepare for Easter and the celebration of new life.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
