Friday Update

18 June 2021 (by stjohnb)

Dear Parents and Carers

A very short weekly update you will be pleased to know.  Another beautiful week weather wise with children out for all their PE activities and after school club, as well as the Year 6 children who represented the school at Litherland Sports Centre and a wonderful educational visit to the Blue Planet for Year 2.

There is one important change that I need to inform you of and that is the time of Fr Grant’s Celebration Jubilee Mass at 1.00pm and not 4.00pm as was printed in a previous letter.

Following our Full Governors Meeting yesterday, I would like to pass on their thanks to you for continuing to support your children and their teachers and particularly for adopting a cautious and sensible approach if your child seems unwell.  Since schools have return after half term, we have seen a significant number who have sadly had to send whole classes home for 10 days isolation and some children will not be returning until the end of June.  We have worked tirelessly to keep your children, clean and safe and followed all sensible guidance and I would like to endorse the governing board’s comments and thank you personally for contacting the school office and letting us know if your child is ill in anyway.  I remain hopeful that if we continue to do this our children shall enjoy an uninterrupted end to what has been a challenging year.  However, vaccination alone does not stop children catching the virus and bringing it into school so we must continue to adopt sensible precautions until we break for summer on Friday 16th July at 3.15pm.

Can I remind you to check Iris Parentmail to pay school levy and check your child’s lunch and breakfast club accounts – thank you.

I wish you all an enjoyable weekend and hope that whoever you support plays well at that game this evening.  Dad’s I hope you are spoilt rotten on Sunday and I look forward to welcoming you on Monday morning.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
