Friday Update 23.09.22

23 September 2022 (by stjohnb)

Dear Parents and Carers

Another successful hard-working week comes to an end.  All the children are now familiar and confident with their new class arrangements and the staff are pleased with the way they are working in class.

Our Year 5 & 6 children enjoyed a wonderful morning at the Liverpool Football Club Foundation.  They thoroughly enjoyed their visit and as expected all the teachers commented on how well they took park and also how well they behaved.  It is most encouraging to see so many children continuing to enjoy their after-school clubs and I do hope that this continues.  We are blessed with wonderful facilities and I would like to thank Mr Parry and our other teachers for providing such a rich opportunity of activities.  Last Friday there were over 50 children enjoying after school football clubs and it was great to see them enjoying themselves with their friends.

Whilst our Stjbkidzone continues to provide a vital service for many of you, I ask that you give 24 hours’ notice of any intended cancellations as this will help the smooth running of this facility.

Can I remind you that Breakfast Club, Stjbkidzone and Dinner Money should be paid in advance and never in arrears.

We have one more week to receive any harvest donations and I would like to thank those of you who have been able to make a contribution.  We shall have a harvest celebration in school next week.

On Friday 30th September we host our MacMillan Coffee Morning.  Again, cakes may be sent throughout the week but we ask that if you are able to provide a homemade cake that this is brought in on either Thursday or Friday morning.  Everyone is most welcome and our cake sale and coffee morning will take place at 9.30am.  Entrance through the family room at the front of the school.  I look forward to seeing you then.

Can I continue to ask that you check that your child’s jumper or cardigan is clearly labelled as we are already experiencing difficulties trying to return garments to their owners.

We were most fortunate to receive a generous gift of several tickets for the Liverpool Legends Football Match which will take place on Saturday afternoon at 3.00pm at Anfield.  There will be a number of tickets available on the table in the foyer by the school office.  Please take some if you would like to attend.  This will obviously be a first come first served arrangement.

We have arranged an open day for prospective new parents to tour the school.  This will take place on Saturday 1st October at 10.30am until 12.00 noon.  Please share this information with anyone that you feel might want to see the wonderful learning environment that we have to offer.  If you would like to contact the office via email admin.stjohnbosco@schools.sefton.gov.uk to confirm your attendance.

May I wish you a happy and peaceful weekend.

Yours sincerely

Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
